Wedding Beauty: Tips For Beautiful Wedding Hair and Makeup

Unfortunately, many brides wait until the last minute to seek out wedding beauty advice. When it comes to your big day, you most certainly want to look absolutely beautiful and fresh, so be sure to begin early when planning for your wedding hairstyle and bridal makeup.

It's very important to learn how to apply wedding makeup so that you look good not only on camera, but up-close and personal when chatting with your guests. Too much makeup and your face will look pasty and gaudy; too little and the camera will wash you out. Apply bridal makeup is almost an art in itself.

However, it's really not that hard to do once you have a little practice... but practice you must! There's a fine line between daytime makeup and what you'd wear in the evening, yet that's the balance you need to achieve. Using good wedding makeup products that are suitable for your skin color and complexion is also important. Using well-chosen skin care products to improve your complexion should be high on your list as well.

As we all know, hair is another huge aspect of total wedding beauty for this special day. Understanding what wedding hairstyle will look good on you, plus suit your headpiece and gown, can be tricky too. You most certainly don't want to cut your hair or have it styled right before your wedding without prior knowledge of what it will look like. It may end up looking awful with no time to change it. Thinking about what you want several months in advance is the key and working with your hairdresser is vital. Once you know what works, it can then be recreated on your wedding day.

Tip 1: Make sure the hairdresser that originally does the practice run on your hair (and if you're happy with it) will be available on the day of your wedding. My own hairdresser ended up being on vacation that week and I had someone different doing my hair. It came out decent, but wasn't really what I had envisioned.

Tip 2: Even if you're planning on having a makeup artist do your makeup, knowing how to apply it yourself and what the results will look like is important. I didn't do this and the consultant I hired used the wrong colors for my face (she used warm tones while my skin is a cool tone), so while it looked "okay", it wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. When I look at my wedding pictures now, I tend to cringe inside, knowing that had I should have made sure she used the right colors for me.
