Wedding Votive Candles

Wedding Votive Candles

Wedding votive candles are an ideal bridal favor gift for your guests. They're usually inexpensive, look very nice, and are functional, since they're something friends and family can use over and over again.

There are a number of ways you can make your own wedding votive candles. Here are a few ideas to consider:

  • Wrap small votive glass holders in a thin parchment paper that has a nice printed design on it. When the candle is lit, it will shine through the paper and highlight the design.
  • Another option that takes a bit more work is to purchase small clay flower pots and paint them in your wedding colors. Seal with an acrylic sealer inside and out and drop in your candle. If you wish, you could also paint a small clay saucer and hot glue it to the bottom of the pot.
  • Recycle baby food jars into attractive holders. After cleaning them thoroughly, hot glue some ribbon or raffia around the ridged opening of the jar and tie into a bow. Pour in about a half inch of colored decorative sand, small pebbles or small shells. Nestle the votive on top for a pretty themed favour.

Those are just a few suggestions on how you can easily create votive candles to suit your wedding theme. However, if you prefer to buy your holders rather than make them yourself, here are some fabulous choices.
